After today's tests of measuring subsonic frequencies 3 stories below the underground transit system, deciphering the ambient noise that I recorded on street level yesterday evening, and measuring the distance and rate at which these vibrations travel, I've developed quite a distressing case of tinnitus. The ringing is at a horribly high pitch, which I've calculate, within the ambience of my cranial cavity is at decibels and 19.73 kHz.

This has never happened before.

Usually, when I conduct these tests, even at 21.53 kHz, the most physical sensation that I'm left with is a tingling up and down my spine. But today, this tinnitus is preventing me from responding to the other frequencies that help me deal with my emotional state. I played the harmonies in D major which generally elates me, and I couldn't hear it because the tinnitus obscures the sound. I never play these recordings so loud induce this type of aural shock.

The worst part of all of this is that for the first time, I can't hear the voices beneath Spectre 52, Spectre 51.5 or Spectre 49.

I need a test subject

Today I experimented a bit with frequencies, using scales in various sequences, tempos and keys. It's strange being my own test subject, but The Company has imposed the highest security check on me and it's just me with my equipment and data. Wouldn't be the first time I suppose.

But at one point, I couldn't believe what I saw when I played two frequencies at 51.51 hz and 132 hz.

Is Paul dead again?

After reprogramming the software for the midi converter, and slowing down the white noise recorded near carlisle street by 515.14%, I deciphered a male's voice crackly whisper repeating, "dare not destroy ... 1854... dare not destroy...1854 " I tested the software on other frequencies I've recorded and created, and this was the only one that revealed this odd message. Am I hearing things?

Under the Influence

I had a tense conversation with my line manager at The Company this morning. Apparently, there's concern from an executive in R&D that I'm devoting too much time to the white noise recordings. Indeed, it's interesting to gain a sense of which frequency triggers what type of cognitive/somatic response. We've been able to locate stimuli from 26.4 kHz to 21.3 khz that trigger hallucinogenic and lucid dreaming response. They're partially satisfied with these results, yet they prefer that I focus on the more dissonant spectrum of sound, and thus a similar spectrum of emotions. Yet, I believe dismantling the white noise is more valuable in the long-term to understand the environmental effects of these landscapes of frequencies on those subjects under their influence -- across the city, in suburbs, schools, factories, shopping malls and in agrarian areas.
